Psalm 90:12 TLB “Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; HELP US to spend them as we should.” The “god of this world has designed endless diversions and distractions in his diabolical world system. Sadly this fast running lifestyle to accomplish more in less time has put prayer behind instead of ahead. Sort of like a vacuum cleaner. We get into situations, and treat prayer like a special attachment to get the dirt out of those tight spaces. We desire God but we attach Him to our mess or needs instead of putting Him FIRST to lead us with His wisdom and instruction. He desires our fellowship. In that quiet place of His presence He divinely fills us with a supply that ONLY HIS SPIRIT CAN PROVIDE. It takes a decision (discipline) to settle the mind and flesh into the presence of God so He can fill our hearts. Diligence, determination FOCUS. I call it the four D’s – Decision, Determination, Discipline, Diligence. We are so driven by the “fast” lane of life we are “driving” (or being driven) forward instead of being led ahead. I like what the message versions says: Psalm 46:10 “Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.” Helper, Holy Spirit waits to fill us daily. He is a rewarder of those who diligently SEEK HIM. Have a great prayer week!
